I'm Dakota.
a programmer.
I am a Computer Science student with a Music Performance minor at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. I have been completing independent learning to further develop my proficiency in Computer Science, as well as starting my career with internship opportunies at both Oshkosh Corporation and Skyward, Inc.
My hobbies include hiking, drumming, programming, spending time with family and friends, and watching sports games. I love playing drums, allowing me to express my creativity in different ways. My interest in music is incorporated into the design of this website, which includes percussion icons on the page.
Java is the first language I used when I found my passion for programming. I have been using it ever since my journey started, primarily focusing in data structures and software engineering.
At my internship with Skyward, this is the primary development language I use. I have become very familar with the langauge and use it on a daily basis.
I have used SQL on many projects through both of my internships. After first being exposed to it at my first internship at Oshkosh Corporation, I utilize SQL queries all the time now.
I have just begun my journey learning how to develop websites using HTML as the basic structure. This webpage itself is part of a project I created using both HTML and CSS.
I am in the process of furthering my understanding of CSS. The language is essential for styling webpages, and is an important component of my personal webpage.
